Watkins and Gunn Family Team are here to support you in a time of crisis.

The current pandemic is putting relationships under severe pressure.  Moving to the “new normal” is going to take time. We have all been warned that there will be no easy exit; and so, it is for many living through lockdown in abusive relationships.

Domestic abuse is very common and is an under reported crime. Domestic abuse takes many forms including behaviour that is

  • Controlling
  • Coercive
  • Threatening
  • Violent
  • Sexual
  • Financial

Both men and women can experience such behaviour and many children are silent witnesses; leading to long lasting emotional harm. Often victims feel suffocated and unable to turn to anyone for help.   No one should suffer at the hands of an abusive partner.  At Watkins and Gunn Solicitors, our Family team are here to help anyone who is experiencing domestic violence and we encourage those who are living in fear to come forward. Everyone has a right to feel safe in their own home. Our experienced Family Solicitors can help you put a stop to this.

We are offering 30-minute free consultations to discuss things further and to provide advice and support. Victims of domestic abuse may also be eligible for Legal Aid, provided they meet the eligibility criteria, which will then help cover some or all legal costs. Everything discussed at these consultations will be kept entirely confidential. So, please do not suffer in silence any longer.
