Moving house during the pandemic

As from 27th July the housing market in Wales fully reopened. As an incentive to get the property market moving the Welsh Government announced a temporary increase to the nil rate band of Land Transaction Tax for main residences in Wales which was extended to 30 June 2021 but has now come to an end. You can calculate your Land Transaction Tax for properties in Wales here

In England reduced rates for Stamp Duty Land Tax were also been extended to 30 June 2021, unlike in Wales, there is a stamp duty holiday transition period in England from 1st July 2021 to 30th September 2021 . You can calculate the Stamp Duty for properties in England here
