Lisa is a Solicitor and Partner at Watkins & Gunn. She specialises in Employment law, Trade Union law and Personal Injury matters.
Lisa is Head of Employment and HR Services. She is a highly regarded Employment Lawyer who deals with complex Trade Union matters from Industrial Action to disputes regarding the internal workings of Unions. She also deals with complex TUPE disputes and discrimination claims and she advises on a wide range of employment issues to large organisations.
She supervises the Employment department from our Newport office and has been intrinsic in developing our Employment and HR offering to businesses across South Wales and beyond. She works closely with our Business Law team to offer businesses a holistic legal support package that covers their needs as they grow.
In her role as an Employment lawyer, Lisa regularly delivers presentations and training to unions and employers in relation to employment matters.
Throughout her career Lisa has also dealt with many high value Personal Injury cases, both individually and as part of a team, including complex industrial disease claims and personal injury claims against the Police. She has also dealt with complex professional negligence claims.
Lisa assists in the running of the firm through her role as Partner, to help innovate, sustain growth and create new opportunities for our loyal and talented staff.
She joined us in 2003, working one day a week whilst studying the LPC (Legal Practice Course). In 2004, after completing the LPC, became a paralegal, then secured a training contract with us. There’s not much about the firm that Lisa doesn’t know and we are incredibly lucky to list her as a Partner.
