Employment Solicitor / Legal Executive (with Practising Rights)
We are seeking an experienced Employment Solicitor or qualified Legal Executive with practising rights to join our highly regarded Employment team. The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload of employment law matters, providing expert advice and representation to clients.
Location
Pontypool (with hybrid and flexible working opportunities)
Key Responsibilities
- Handle a mixed caseload of employment law cases from instruction through to settlement or hearing, including:
– Unfair and wrongful dismissal
– Discrimination and Equality Act claims
– Redundancy and restructuring
– TUPE transfers
– Employment Tribunal proceedings
– Drafting and negotiating settlement agreements
- Provide clear, pragmatic advice to clients
- Liaise with trade unions and maintain strong working relationships with union representatives
- Display strong compliance skills
- Supervise junior team members where appropriate and contribute to team development
- Attend union conferences and networking events
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with practising rights and 2+ years PQE
- Proven experience in employment litigation and advisory work
- Excellent client care and communication skills
- Ability to thrive as part of a collaborative team
Desirable
- Experience working with trade unions
- Membership of the Employment Lawyers Association
