The final expert who provided evidence in relation to the Birmingham Haemophilia Centre was Dr Wilde.

He took over from Professor Franklin as Director of the Haemophilia Centre at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in November 1992.

During his evidence Jenni Richards QC questioned him about consent, hepatitis C tests undertaken at Queen Elizabeth Hospital from 1992 onwards and record keeping at the Centre.  Dr Wilde also discussed how the use of treatment for hepatitis C progressed at the centre over the years from the introduction of Interferon treatment.

At the close of his evidence Dr Wilde acknowledged that this had been a massive tragedy and that he was proud and privileged to be the Consultant of those infected and described them as a wonderful group of patients.
