Graduate wins Training contract with Watkins & Gunn
GRADUATE WINS TRAINING CONTRACT WITH EXPANDING LEGAL FIRM
Linda Dack has fought off tough competition to secure a place as a trainee solicitor in Gwent firm Watkins & Gunn.Linda, from Newport, won this position from over a hundred other applicants. Linda studied for her initial degree in law at Swansea University and went on to finish her studies at the Cardiff Law School. Watkins and Gunn partner Clive Thomas commented, “We were thoroughly impressed with Linda. She has demonstrated a strong work ethic and a commitment to the law profession.”
Clive Thomas continued, “Competition for training contracts is fierce with more and more candidates applying for fewer places. We recognise the need for excellence and for providing the best service to our clients. We are therefore delighted to welcome Linda to the practice and we are sure she has a very successful career ahead of her.”
As a trainee, Linda is currently working in the Family Law Team. “I am really enjoying working at Watkins and Gunn and I am thrilled to have a training contract with them”, said Linda.
Linda’s dedication and enthusiasm is reflected in her impressive portfolio of voluntary work, having spent time in the Citizens Advice Bureau. At Swansea University, she chaired the University Law Clinic that provided advice to students under the supervision of local solicitors. Linda has also qualified as a SOVA mentor, helping 18-24 year olds find full time employment.
