  Child Care

At Watkins & Gunn we recognise what a difficult time it can be when Social Services become involved with children within your family.  Whether care proceedings have started or whether Social Services are just holding meetings about your family we can help.

What if care proceedings have started?
I
t is vital you get a solicitor to deal with your case as soon as possible.  Getting proper advice will help you understand what is happening and will help you to have a greater say in how your family is dealt with by Social Services.

Social Services Child Care

What it Social Services are involved but there are no court proceedings?
We can still help you.  We can explain to you what Social Services are asking you to do.  Meetings are often held and it is important that you know what to say and do so as not to make the situation worse.  Often these meetings look at whether a child should be placed on the Child Protection Register.  This has serious consequences as the child is  then registered with Social Services and then the police, hospitals, doctors and schools are informed.
